LATEST TAX CREDIT UPDATE AS OF 6/30/2009
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) signed into law on February 17, 2009, includes a 30% consumer tax credit (up to $1,500) for the purchase of 75%-efficient bio-mass burning stoves (i.e. wood and pellets) and can be used towards the stove, venting, hearthpads and installation costs.
Woodburning Stoves & Inserts That Qualify For The 30 % Stimulus Tax Credit
This list will be updated as soon as we find out about more units that qualify for the tax credit. Please feel free to call and ask for Fran to discuss any questions related to this tax credit, which is for adding a high-efficiency wood or pellet burner to an existing home. It cover s 30% of the cost of the unit and accessories, any items needed for proper installation (stove pipe, chimney pipe, etc), and labor to install, up to a cap of $1500.00. It applies to freestand stoves, fireplace inserts as well as "built-in stoves" that look like fireplaces which are certified by a recognized independant testing lab to meet the new IRS efficeincy guidelines. We can issue you a certificate from the Manufacturer for your records to prove the stove meets the Stimulus IRS guidelines. Please see your tax advisor as to whether you are eligible to take this credit.
